Entry requirement for Kosrae are same as most places. You will be required to fill out an immigration form and a custom form. A US$15 departure tax is collected at the airport before departure. US citizens must show proof of citizenship and nationals of other countries must have a valid passport. A 30-day tourist permit may be obtained upon entry from immigration officials. All visitors must have a return or onward ticket
Customs checks are performed upon arrival entry to Kosrae. Visitors are allowed to bring one carton of cigarette, one pound of tobacco (about 20 cigars), and 52 fluid ounces of alchohol. An import tax for excess of these products will be levied. Under $200 value of each of following – cosmetics, toiletries, perfumes, non-alchoholic beverages, food stuff, citrus fruits, and soap are permitted without tax. Casual and summer clothing is worn throughout the year. Swimsuits and shorts are not acceptable in the villages. Attire that goes to your knees and covers your shoulders is preferred. Hats and sunglasses highly recommended and sunscreen is recommended.
Kosraean and English speaking community. You will find many Kosraeans speak English well as their second language.
There are alcohol beverages for sale in some of the island markets. Drinking is illegal on Sundays 12AM to 12PM.

Coconut wireless is the best from of media. Kaselelia Press is sometimes passed around from travelers. There is a TV station that offers sports ESPN, CNN, and one-week delay of recorded major network TV shows from US, and the island have one AM radio station, V6AJ, which broadcast over 1500 AM.

The majority of people on Kosrae are Congregationalists, but there are other denomaintions represented, as well including Seventh Day Adventists, Church of Jejsus Chriost of Latter Day Saints, Catholics, Baptists, Jeova Witnesses, Bahai, Assembly of God. All have regular church services. Visitors are welcome to attend the church of their choice. Information can be obtained from your local hotel.
